In depth

Verdict

GREAT FUN was overlooked by the majority of punters when making a successful debut in April and he can gain compensation for two near misses on Kempton's Polytrack. The local trainers should put up a solid defence and David O'Meara relies upon Zacynthus. The trainer produced the seven-year-old at the first time of asking at Ayr and the gelding has to be viewed as a serious player despite the steadier of a big weight. Ruth Carr's Slemy is yet to add to a maiden success for Richard Hannon though he did run with some credit on a previous foray over course and distance. Millkwood put together an encouraging effort in first time cheekpieces at Thirsk and John Davies' inmate would have realistic claims if the rain stays away.
