In depth

Formwatch

Little Task Carries a penalty for his debut win at Stratford when beating Rheims 7L. Respectable runs since, but obviously this 7lb penalty taking its toll; 7lb claimer in the saddle today.

Activist Some respectable runs on the flat with Michael Bell including when fourth, only 1L beaten by Red River Rebel at Newcastle penultimate start. Hurdle debut today for new trainer; best watched.

Diamond Joshua (IRE) First time blinkers made no difference last start when well beaten at Catterick. Best run has been over this trip at Chepstow; cannot be ignored on hurdle debut.

Impero Well beaten at Huntingdon on Hurdle debut, moderate form on the flat; others preferred.

Jawrjik (IRE) Well beaten in three maidens; hurdle debut today.

Kennythorpe Boppy (IRE) Uninspiring on his flat form; makes hurdling debut today.

Magic Waters Rated 73 on the flat, some respectable placed form. Has had one run over this trip at Beverly on GF without much success; best watched on hurdles debut.

Master Trump Has not made his mark on the flat; best watched on hurdle debut.

Mr Squiggle (IRE) A winner at Redcar over 1m3f on firm, put up 5lbs to a rating of 50 for this effort. Has been well beaten since. Hurdles debut today; best watched.

Needwood Brave In touch at Stratford when SU before final 2 flights in race won by Little Task. Flat form only moderate but has obviously taken to hurdles well and first time visor today; hard to assess but cannot be ignored.

Northern Castle (IRE) Well beaten over 5-8f in maidens; hurdles debut.

Premier Boy (IRE) Third at Kelso on hurdling debut, but 17.5L beaten by Earl Siguard. Likely to improve.

Spa Gulch (USA) Still a maiden on the flat and very moderate form over hurdles; others preferred.

Squirrel Nutkin (IRE) Behind Premier Boy at Kelso on hurdling debut. Placed form over 5F on the flat; makes little appeal.

Taity Tony (IRE) By a sprinter, may fail to see out the trip.

Bobanvi Has been tried over 5-16f with little success; others preferred today.

Helali Manor Has shown nothing of note on the flat; best watched over hurdles.

No Sam No Beaten 15L by Bula Rose on hurdles debut at Perth, failed to improve on last start at Kelso in race won by Earl Siguard.

Princess Sophie Showed a modicum of ability on hurdle debut when finishing mid division; needs to improve to have a chance today.

Reeds Rains Won his debut at Thirsk over 5f, has failed to show anything near that since. Related to 7f winner; others preferred.

Top Quality A full brother to Simply Dashing; likely to be better in time
