Quaterstaff is taken to win this novice chase in good style. The gelding by Charmer was a fair third behind Keiran a couple of runs ago and he would have won last time but for unseating his rider three out. He has conditions in favour and he will be hard to beat with a clear round. Supreme Breeze rates the main danger he was a fair second behind Sabi Sand last time out and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. However his best form is on slightly softer ground. Monty's Quest was a fair fourth on his chasing debut behind All Sonsilver at Ayr. However he fell last time out at Catterick, if his confidence has not been effected he could run well at a fair price. Trooper was third behind Bold Navigator at Carlisle last time out but he looked very one paced and he may need a sterner test of stamina. Gohh was third behind Freds In The Know over two miles at this track last time out. That form has since been franked but he has never raced over a trip this long before and it is anyone's guess if he will stay.
