Life Is Life (FR) did not enjoy the soft ground last time out at Ascot but had previously won well at the same course. The ground today will suit him better and his Flat form should see him home. Father Paddy makes his belated debut over obstacles after putting up some useful performances in bumpers. He may go close here. Any Mary Reveley runner has to be of interest at this track and Left Bank is well regarded at home, however he may just lack the experience to win this. The soon to retire Mickey Hammond will be looking to go out on a high and he has an interesting runner here in Russian Dancer who shaped well on his hurdling debut at Catterick in November. This gelding if fit enough could spring a surprise in this opener.
