This represents Compromiznotension's easiest opportunity to date and he will do for us despite there still being slight concerns about the yard's form. Veiled Applause, Golden Dagger, Pagan Sword and Sam McCoombe are four that make some appeal as alternatives. The selection raced too keenly when around 20 lengths behind Akarem on debut but stepped up on that form to finish a 3 length third to the useful Halla San before a slightly disappointing run at Musselburgh. He should be good enough to win this if back to his best. Veiled Applause was some way behind him in January but showed improved form last time and should continue to head in the right direction, Golden Dagger will appreciate this better ground having got stuck in the mud last time whilst Pagan Sword was another to take a step in the right direction at Stratford. Sam McCoombe is a more speculative option but he showed plenty of ability in fast ground bumpers before disappointing on his return in more testing conditions; he could give a good account but lacks experience and we'll side with the more solid claims of Compromiznotension.
