    Verdict

Russian Royale won at Market Rasen last month but was beaten five lengths at Sedgefield off today's higher mark on his latest start. KAYF BLANCO (NAP) makes more appeal as he finished third to the progressive Cooper over track and trip last time and should go close with a similar effort. Arthurs Secret and Sir Safir have won maiden hurdles and Hartside's victory at Carlisle came in a lower grade than this. Hainan won a novices' event at Catterick last season while Hollywoodien and Kentucky Star debut for new trainers today having won in France and Ireland respectively and are worth a second glance.
