In depth

Verdict

A winner on fast going at Ayr early last month, STAR SHIELD didn’t really get the run of the race on a return visit and can reverse that later form with Ventura Rascal. Danny Tudhope’s mount also looks better treated than stablemate Starshiba. Asdaa has become disappointing but Beltane was only beaten a neck at Beverley after winning at Musselburgh and How Impressive may be better than he’s shown so far on Turf.
