In depth

Verdict

Runthatpastmeagain is fancied to get off the mark over hurdles at the fourth time of asking, while Ballykelly and Tuskar Rock are others respected in a race heavy on numbers but severely lacking in quality. A market move for Munnings Touch would also be interesting but he needs to improve on his hurling form up-to-press and is hard to confidently recommend. Tuskar Rock made a satisfactory hurdling debut at Towcester a fortnight ago and can find a race before too long. He looks destined for a modest handicap mark and is one to keep tabs on from here. Ballykelly is the preferred runner form the Richard Phillips team (also had Piper Hayes and King Jack in at the five-day stage) and, as such, has to be respected. The seven-year-old may have been in need of the run on his seasonal reappearance, so a much better show can be expected today. However, Runthatpastmeagain has a more solid profile at this stage and, as the son of Accordion seems versatile regarding the ground, the JP McManus-owned gelding is expected to have the edge when it really matters.
