In depth

Verdict

QUICK SHARPENER beat two subsequent winners here over Christmas and was far from disgraced under a big weight in a handicap at Carlisle later. He is race-fit whereas likely market rival Halligator is having a first run since landing the odds in a Uttoxeter maiden last June, though the latter has plenty of scope. The others will struggle to get involved if that pair run up to form.
