A wide open bumper rounds off the card and as usual in these events the market will be all important but the principals look to be Cast Iron Casey, Mister Pan and Thenford Snipe and the narrow vote is given to Mister Pan. The selection hails from a yard that can ready a newcomer and this well bred Taipan gelding, brother to winning hurdler The Real Deal is taken to make a winning debut. Cast Iron Casey is another that catches the eye on breeding being a Carroll House gelding out of the winning pointer Ashie's Friend but the suspicion is he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Thenford Snipe has shown promise in two runs to date but he is another that is bred to be suited by a longer trip. Brave Brigadier was second behind O'Sogood last time and he has place claims but that latest effort was over a shorter trip and he is opposable over this longer distance. This is a trappy affair and the market will be very informative but for the winner we return to Mister Pan.
