Present Glory can make experience count over Martin Pipe's newcomer Cantgeton, with It's Bertie, Notaproblem and Elverys others to note. Although many will want to side with Cantgeton, the fact that the Pipe inmate has not had a public outing means that we are guessing as to his merits, and unless the market forces him right down in the betting, it may pay to side instead with Present Glory. His stable have landed a few touches already in this sphere, and there was a lot to like about his effort at Hereford in November, Colin Tinkler's charge holding a prominent pitch throughout and only going down by less than a length at the finish. Notaproblem stayed on without being knocked about at Hexham and should improve as a result, while It's Bertie is Flat-bred and comes from a strong local yard that does well here. Talking of the Flat, trainer Richard Fahey who excelled under that code last year, introduces Elverys, a Lord Americo gelding who should be noted in the market. On this occasion though, we would rather be on Present Glory who can improve enough to take the final race on the card.
