In depth

Verdict

It is hard to get away from the chance of La Perrotine who is given the nod over Marsh Run, Sister Cinnamon and Freydis. Howard Johnson's mare has produced two excellent performances over hurdles this season. She outclassed a modest field at Sedgefield last time and there looks to be a lot more to come. Marsh Run finally showed her true colours when beating subsequent winner Diamond Sal, now she has re-discovered how to win she will be a big threat to all. Freydis comes into the argument here on her game victory at Warwick back in November. Meanwhile Sister Cinnamon a heavy ground winner at Uttoxeter in January can also be given a chance of reaching the frame. Mrs Richie may come out best of the others, but in a fascinating contest La Perrotine is our idea of the winner.
