held up in rear, headway 10th, ridden 5 out, one-paced when blundered badly next, jumped left final 3, not recover
tracked winner to 3rd, reminder 5th, weakened quickly next, tailed off when pulled up before 7th
made all, ridden 2 out, comfortably
tracked leaders, chased winner from 6th, ridden 2 out, soon no chance
held up towards rear, headway after 6th, close 3rd when blundered badly and unseated rider 8th
pulled towards rear, headway to chase winner 3rd to 6th, weakened after 5 out
Doubts about most of these and the small field does not make it an exciting betting opportunity though some value may be had in Grey Abbey who knows this track well and looks well treated on the form he has shown in the past. All ground comes alike to him. Barton, at his best would hold every chance but his performance last time out was below par for whatever reason and he can hardly be supported with confidence here. A Piece Of Cake has shown good bits of form in the past and copes with any surface. He needs to improve further on what he has shown but his trainer has a good course record and her horses seem to be running well now.
