In depth

Verdict

Ely Brown's return to form at Doncaster three weeks ago came out of the blue and there's no guarantee he'll reproduce that running here. Abnaki is worth a second look, however, following his victory at Fakenham as Maurice Linehan's claim negates the extra. Bruslini wasn't beaten far off this mark at Ffos Las two runs ago and Little Carmela is better than she showed at Ascot last time but the vote goes to SPIRIT OF BARBADOS. He's gone up 5lb since finishing a close second at Taunton earlier this month but is still relatively unexposed and well worth another try over this longer trip.
