In depth

Verdict

A big field but several have already shown some ability in bumpers, though Lindaka was a disappointing favourite here on New Year’s Eve. A lack of experience may have cost GINNY’S DESTINY victory at Exeter as he travelled strongly for a long way. A half-brother to four winners, including the smart God’s Own, he should be more the finished article today. Bubble Dubi may have a bit more scope than Taunton runner-up Bertie Blue and Avalanche Peak but Are U Wise To That is more interesting being a half-brother to three winners. Ottoline was a fair third here last month and Silver Atom is Flat-bred and may be the pick of the other newcomers ahead of the Henderson pair.
