Verdict

Philip Hobbs puts an amateur up on Golden Doyen, the winner of a Class 2 handicap at Cheltenham in October. He's run in Listed and Grade 3 company this spring so this represents a huge drop in class. ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY won a Warwick handicap last month by a distance and would probably have followed up at Haydock but for falling two out. He's up another 8lb but has an obvious chance of recouping losses. Thumb Stone Blues won a novices' handicap at Doncaster and may have found the ground too quick when runner-up in a small field at Wincanton while The Tourard Man would have to be considered on his excellent run in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham though he appeared to be feeling the effects at Aintree.
