Verdict

It is hard to believe that this is a slight ease in grade for Mercurious and, as such, the John Mackie-trained filly is given the nod to follow up her victory at Wolverhampton from earlier in the month. Golfagent and Rose Tea, who have both been out over jumps recently are laden with stamina and will ensure the selection does not have an easy time of things - while Anniversary Guest could go well for a long way but is a still yet to win a race from 22 previous starts and has done to suggest that is about to change; despite being suited by the demands of this sort of trip in her profile. Therefore, Mercurious, with her confidence boosted by a string of good efforts, is given the vote today as the one most likely to give her true running in her current frame of mind.
