Verdict

Connetable could be a force in races like this if he can get his act together over fences. Philip Rowley and Alex Edwards teamed up to win this normally-competitive hunter chase 12 months ago and are responsible for prolific pointer Hazel Hill. Brandon Hill will no doubt try and make all under Noel George and Cousin Pete is interesting getting weight from his likely market rivals with Nick Phillips claiming 7lb. SHANTOU FLYER (NAP) hasn’t raced since pulling up in last year’s Grand National but he’s a cut above these if anywhere near fit following wind surgery. Mr Mix and Shelford may be the pick of the remainder.
