Despite a quick turnaround FAVERSHAM gets the vote to make it back to back wins with Sexy Rexy and Top Ram also in the mix. The selection claimed his first victory over hurdles a week ago at Bangor in a contest very similar to this. On that day he found the soft going exactly to his liking and with that expected again here then he has to be fancied. Racing off the same mark that he ran off when taking that race last week the only concern is the quick reappearance with the race maybe coming too soon. Sexy Rexy is proving a little problematic since taking second place in a novice hurdle over two years ago. He seems full of mistakes and has plenty to do on his handicap debut. Officially rated at 99 and with the yard in good form any improvement in jumping could get him a share of the prize pot. Top Ram had an ok pipe opener last time but looked to be at best a modest hurdler. A couple of decent performances at Chepstow last year shows he might have a race like this in him and on that form need to be considered. Lord Lieutenant is of interest on last season's efforts and will love the cut in the ground. It would be tough for the five-year-old to land it on his seasonal reappearance but not out of the question. However with the runs in him already Faversham has the vote.
