This is a tricky opener as a few of these have shown enough to suggest they can win a maiden hurdle. Benenden is one but the winning pointer needs to bounce back from a poor run at Southwell. Broadway Symphony was only beaten a length-and-a-half in a handicap at Ludlow last month while Master Todd, though already a nine-year-old, was third at Chepstow 11 days ago and would have a great chance on his form around this time last year. Rio Milan and Presenting The Way also enter the equation while the mare Java Rose has won on the Polytrack. But ULZANA'S RAID probably has more scope and, as his course and distance third in December couldn't have worked out much better, Alan King's charge gets the nod.
