Burgungy looks the value call here with special mention given to recent winner War Owl, the game Game Guru and Nick Littmoden's True Companion. The selection has proved himself over a variety of trips and surfaces and is possibly one of the most consistent horses in training. Ideally drawn and now with a more competent trainer he has an excellent chance to score at decent odds with Keith Dalgleish looking an excellent booking. Game Guru did not have to be at his best to score last time out at Southwell and it is interesting Paul Blockley sends him out on turf for the first time in a long while. War Owl cannot be dismissed following his win at Bath 4 days ago and this step up in trip should suit. He is drawn well and goes well for his apprentice. True Companion is another consistent type who is capable of winning this sort of race. He showed at Redcar last season this ground is suitable and he holds good each-way claims. However, at the likely prices Burgundy looks the horse to be on for a trainer whose horses seem to run well at this track.
