Calico was a winner at Southwell last month on his fourth start over fences and Bass Rock won at Carlisle before just coming up short at Wetherby, though ideally needs further. Haddex Des Obeaux is improving at a rate of knots and takes no prisoners but is unlikely to get JONBON off the bridle. A dual Grade 1 winner, Nicky Henderson’s top-class gelding is a hot favourite for next month’s Arkle and should enhance his claims further here.
