PEUR DE RIEN was a 50/1 chance when a close fourth at Huntingdon in February. That was a major step forward from his debut at Newbury and he might be worth a small interest in another ordinary contest. Lungarno Palace couldn’t cope with a penalty at Kempton but that was a better race than this and the extra yardage should suit. Kloud Gate is slowly improving and Gortroe Joe probably has the best form in the race, though didn’t get home over 2m5f at Ludlow last time and this is a stiffer course. Javert was a useful chaser two years but a lack of recent action is a worry.
