Verdict

Kitegen was well backed at Kempton last month but looked in need of the run. He only weakened on the run to the last, however, and will strip fitter here with the step up in trip also in his favour. But he has to give 10lb to THE OULD LAD, who is improving with experience over fences and looked a sure-fire future winner when second to Cabimas at Huntingdon when favourite Trickaway, who re-opposes on the same terms, was four lengths away in third. Neither Owen Na View nor Fergal Mael Duin have managed a win so far under Rules and the latter has gone up 4lb since his second at Plumpton.
