Pacific Pride, Angus Newz and River Bravo look the ones to focus on here, with Pacific Pride getting the vote. After scoring twice as a juvenile, River Bravo was not seen after disappointing at York in a competitive sprint. He finished last on his re-appearance but has won on heavy ground so he can be a leading player here. Angus Newz is inconsistent but has a good wins to runs ratio and can handle heavy ground. He won at Ripon in May but the handicapper may have caught up with him now. Pacific Pride has a touch of class, and although he has not won for two years, he can handle cut in the ground and is coming down the handicap. Outpaced at Epsom last time, he had shaped well on his re-appearance in a hot handicap at York. Pacific Pride can win this en route to better things.
