Cobra De Mai won a bumper over 1m4f in the French provinces in the summer and has since joined Dan Skelton's team. But the one to be on here looks to be another French import PEMBA, who was completely unfancied on her hurdling debut at Auteuil in March but finished a close-up third and could be useful. Chic Name looks thoroughly exposed and will probably find at least one too good again while the twice-placed Albert Herring already looks as though he needs further. Newcomers worth a market check include Vocaliser, who won twice on the Flat in Ireland, and June's Windsor winner Akavit.
