STEEL FREE should prove tough to beat in this maiden; the list of dangers is headed by Papyrian and Makaam. Michael Bell's filly has run well on both of her racecourse appearances, most recently over 6f at Leicester, but she will be suited by the return to today's trip and the yard are beginning to fire in plenty of winners. Papyrian ran his best race yet in a handicap at Newbury last time when he still showed signs of being green. The form of the yard is a cause for concern, but nonetheless he looks to have a chance. Makaam did not handle the soft ground at Yarmouth last time so that disappointing run can be forgiven. He remains unexposed and it would not be a surprise if he bounced back to form. Prime Circle shaped with promise on his debut and the yard are in good form so he could go well at a price, but Steel Free looks primed for a big run and she gets the vote.
