        Verdict

        Young Lorcan, Potts of Magic and Prayerful appear the more obvious suitors to first prize and we shall stick with Young Lorcan. This confirmed mud lover was perhaps given an overcautious ride last time out but course-and-distance form at Uttoxeter counts for plenty and he can regain the winning thread. A prolific winner - he has won five out of his twenty starts thus far. Potts of Magic is a consistent sort. He does not quite possess the skill of his mother, Potters Gale, but he jumps adequately and seems to act on any ground. Prayerful is another who falls into the consistent but infrequent winner category. She has placed form over the trip but there is little soft ground form to recommend her. Redde has lost his way markedly while Desert Tommy is making a return from a very long absence. McSnappy is watched in the market for any positive signs. A dour slog in the mud but Young Lorcan has the ability to act on the ground and we will seek not to take him on.
