In depth

Verdict

Not So Sure Dick showed a willing attitude to score at Fontwell last time and Trevor Whelan's claim negates his 6lb rise in the weights. Night Alliance may need this but it would be a surprise if Richard Newland didn't find a race for his Irish import in the near future, while Alcalde wasn't beaten far in a decent contest at Sandown last time and is only a pound higher here. Trafalgar is lightly raced and has every chance on his recent second at Exeter but Charlie Longsdon's yard continues in fine form so we'll give the vote to BE MY LIGHT. With rain forecast, the mare should be in her element and there was a lot to like about her comeback third at Chepstow. Ebony River was runner-up at Hexham after a year off and also warrants a second look.
