Verdict

Though PURPLE KING only won by a short-head at Stratford, he’d gone close against an above-average novice at Southwell the time before and is the one to beat in this, despite his penalty. The Swagman only ran here on Friday but would be interesting if making a quick reappearance. Chapati was placed once in Ireland but has switched stables since last seen, though it’s difficult to make a case for many of the others.
