    Verdict

YOUR BAND was probably flattered by his proximity to the useful Pacify here earlier in the month but that was still a fair debut for Alastair Ralph and it would be no surprise to see him go one better. The Swagman won a bumper at Newton Abbot at the fourth attempt and could do better over hurdles but all-weather winner Blazon has only placed twice in nine tries over timber, though has won a bumper. Another Lincolnday won twice on the Flat so is not out of this.

    Formwatch

Another Lincolnday 8-1 (9-0) Led, soon 4 length clear, reduced lead 7f out, headed 3f out, soon weakened, 12th of 13, 29 3/4l behind Lever Du Soleil (9-1) at Musselburgh 2m hcp (6) gf in Jul.

Blazon 4-1 (9-1) Held up in rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, kept on towards finish, 5th of 13, 3 1/4l behind Encryption (9-4) at Kempton 2m hcp (5) pol in Jul.

The Swagman (USA) 7-2 (11-0) Made all, edged right over 1f out, ran on well, won at Newton Abbot 2m 1f (5) gd in May beating Carys' Commodity (10-10) by 2l, 14 ran.

Your Band 20-1 (10-10) Chased leaders, not fluent 4th, ridden 3 out, went 2nd flat, flattered by proximity to winner, 2nd of 10, 2 3/4l behind Pacify (11-5) at Uttoxeter 2m (4) gd in Jul.
