Mighty Monty was all out in the end to hold off Lucky Lukey over C&D 12 days ago having travelled strongly for most of the race. He's 9lb higher today, which may be enough to prevent a follow-up. Code Blue is very lightly raced but has been off the track for a year while Southwell winner French Seventyfive was well beaten at Carlisle last time and prefers a faster surface. Original Prankster is still a maiden but has dropped to a very fair mark and could go close with a clear round while there is probably more to come from Simon West's mare Lovey Dovey this winter. O'CALLAGHAN STRAND continues to run well however and, only a pound higher than when second at Wetherby last month, is fancied to recapture the winning thread today.
