In depth

Verdict

Neither Carraig nor Lara's Girl have shown any real sign of ability over hurdles so this is likely to go to one of the newcomers with Ceiriog Valley preferred to Nevsky Bridge in what looks a poor contest. The selection was capable on the flat with Barry Hills and has now joined Paul Webber for the winter game. A reproduction of the pick of her form on the level should suffice for the daughter of In The Wings, who appreciated plenty of cut in the ground on the flat. Al Alba was unexposed on the flat with Richard Hannon and could be of interest on her hurdling debut for Heater Dalton, while Blackcomb Mountain has along absence to overcome and may be best watched considering that and ground that may be too testing anyway. Nevsky Bridge has run well in banded stakes races of late and makes more appeal than the remainder but Ceiriog Valley would have an obvious chance on her flat form and she gets the vote.
