Dashing Over was well supported for his debut at Market Rasen but could only start on at one pace and was well beaten. Mr Burgees had shown improved form between the flags before a fair bumper debut in a small field at Perth but The White Duke looked as though he needed further when staying on from the rear at Southwell. Bumble Bay put a moderate debut behind him with a much better run at Stratford though he was still beaten 16l and never looked like winning. Peter Bowen won the first running of this a year ago with a four-year-old and can repeat the process with the newcomer ROYAL CRAFTSMAN, who is by top jumps stallion Robin Des Pres and out of a mare who has produced a couple of winners.
