In depth

Verdict

A poor turnout with the disappointing pair Winged Hussar and Mount Prague more often than not beating themselves, this may end up going to chasing debutante Russian Gigolo, who can race off his hurdles mark in this. Out of a Tarqogan mare there is every chance he will make a much better chaser than hurdler and with a recent outing over hurdles having sharpened him up, he will not want for lack of fitness. Mount Prague, an early casualty at Huntingdon last time, has his fair share of ability, but he does need things to go his own way, as does Winged Hussar, who could hardly have failed to get his head in front at Bangor especially as the runner-up failed to act on the softened ground. He is normally one to watch rather than to back. Winning hunter-chaser Sacrifice isn't badly treated and is more straightforward than most, so it isn't hard to see him taking a hand, but if Russian Gigolo puts in a clear round he could prove to be well in at the weights.
