Malcom Jefferson has delivered steady progression from SWEET HOLLY in four starts for the yard since leaving Lucinda Russell. The 'tiny steps' policy has worked well and the Kayf Tara mare is taken to follow up a cosy Southwell success in what rated a decent contest. Trip and ground are fine and she should be able to handle the assessor's 6lb rise for that Nottinghamshire victory. Wintour Leap has returned from an absence dating back to the autumn of 2015 to run a couple of promising races on the Flat and remains of considerable interest on this return to timber off a fair mark. Lapalala is likely to prove better than her form suggests for Hobbs and Johnson and is respected along with River Icon who remains lightly-raced and arrives in good nick after a pair of strong efforts the last twice. The Jardine mare could well emerge as the main danger.
