It rarely pays to be dogmatic in races of this nature and EMPRESS ORCHID is only one of a handful of interesting types that seem capable of winning at this level. Anadama stayed on past beaten horses on her debut at Cheltenham last month. She gave her rider very little assistance on that occasion but can be expected to have learnt from the experience. Present Your Case also ran in the Cheltenham contest - finishing second. She has the size and scope to improve, so she has to be shortlist material here. Eiri Amach is an intresting debutante and one to note in the betting, while Irish Symphony made a pleasing debut but failed to improve when last seen. Still, with all things considered, Empress Orchid has vital experience of racing at Uttoxeter and, as she seemed to relish setting the tempo when she raced here in March, this stoutly-bred filly may be hard to peg-back if she has improved in the intervening period.
