Great Vizier has returned in improved form after a short break and the Gordon Elliott raider has a clear chance to land a first success over timber. Riviere Argentee landed a first hurdling success at Cartmel of late, is in consistent form and respected. MAGELLAN is the most lightly-raced of the trio over timber but also appeals as the one with the most potential. He was last seen when trailing home last of nine at Haydock but that was in a good class Flat handicap and he's better judged on a useful effort on his previous start when hunting up Onthefrontfoot, who's won again since, at Ayr. He'll be well suited by this move up to 2m4f for the first time too.

Magellan 22-1 (9-0) Raced wide close up, ridden and weakened over 1f out, last of 9, 20l behind Lucky Deal (9-7) at Haydock 2m hcp (2) gf in May.
