Rosses Point gets the call here ahead of Martin Ossie and Assumetheposition. Rosses Point was not disgraced form his revised mark at Lingfield last time and the fourth from that race has won since so, overall for us, his form entitles him to respect. Prolific point-to-point winner Martin Ossie was very disappointing on his Rules debut and the jury is out on him now, although his chance is certainly not dismissed. Thyne Man's best novice form gives him a chance, while Malko de Beaumont seemed to show improvement last time, although the form of that race has been let down since. Jonny's Kick has a chance on bits of form, not least when third to Dun Doire at Wetherby, although he was further behind that progressive type when they next met. Assumetheposition looks fairly weighted and is another to consider, while Avadi is certainly capable of running well at this level. Finally, the lightly-raced Darnayson is hard to assess, Point has suggested that he can be competitive from his falling mark, and Smurfit is lightly raced and might have better to come. Overall, though, we will stick with Rosses Point.
