Hermann Clermont had been racing over fences in France before a reasonable debut for Gordon Elliott and should do better but Jakie Mac did better when dropped down to the minimum at Naas. Butty O Brien has only raced in testing conditions over the minimum but should be better suited by today's trip while the four-year-old Old Chap was staying on over 2m at Navan last month, a remark that also applies to Rose Of Kalanisi at Clonmel.
