Jonjo O'Neill enjoyed a most successful first season as master of Jackdaws Castle and may hold the key to this moderate affair in the shape of Scarletti. The five-year-old was a useful winner on the level in Germany and has proved himself on a quick surface so may be too good for a modest bunch. Freddie's Comet and Dalcassian Buck both look very ordinary and a bigger danger may come from fellow hurdling debutant Jay Bee Ell who has shown signs of ability in bumpers and will have been well schooled.
