    Verdict

You need to forgive him a modest effort last time out but IMPACT ZONE is on a very fair mark and gets the nod in preference to Gershwinner and Well Mick. The last named stays well and is effective on this stamina-sapping course. A pre-racing deluge of rain would be a great aid to his cause, though. Gershwinner, like the selection, has been cut some slack by the handicapper and will be a threat if he is on song. However, his latest effort was hardly a headline grabber and he need to post a much better round of jumping this afternoon. The Brig At Ayr and Basoda are others for the shortlist. However, Impact Zone is well worth another throw of the dice in a race that won't live too long in the memory for most.
