Verdict

Ben Pauling has wasted no time putting Perfect Pirate over hurdles after just one run in a bumper and he’s preferred to newcomer and stablemate Imperial Bay. Pine Warbler showed some ability last season and Clondaw Bisto will have learned plenty from his second at Fontwell. He makes more appeal than Ludlow runner-up Another Venture and Popelys Gull, who may do better in handicaps. THOMAS SHELBY (NAP) has his measure and sets the standard on his second to Druid’s Folly over track and trip last month.
