Dun Locha Castle gets the vote over Maybeseven, Never Awol and Grumpy Stumpy. Dun Locha Castle is not badly weighted for this amateur riders event and is taken to supplement his recent success at Plumpton that saw a well-planned target achieved. The nine-year-old was bought with that race in mind, and as he was 8lb out of the handicap then, faces a similar scenario here, with the weights going up 12lbs. He was a maiden in Ireland but has quickly adapted to life on these shores, and Richard Mitchell's charge can pay to support again. Tallow Bay was a very one-paced second here last time, with Maybeseven back in third, while Never Awol unseated at the seventh. Grumpy Stumpy was a tired horse when falling at the last at Chepstow, but that was only his second run back from a long absence so he should be that bit fitter. Agincourt comes from a stable that does well here but is hard to fancy, and all in all, Dun Locha Castle has the best claims, especially with Tom Dreaper in the plate.
