Verdict

A tricky bumper for punters ends the day and with so many in the field making debuts the market could be the best guide but without it PIPE BANNER has the vote with Captain Crackers and Little George also in calculations. The three we've picked out all have some racecourse experience and in three efforts the selection, owned by the Queen, has shown the best form. On each of his last two runs the pick has found just one too good and with the form beginning to work out from his last runners up spot he can go one better. Captain Crackers was promising on debut to claim a place however the form from that run in June has so far been weak. The change of scenery to Alan Kings stable may bring out more from Little George who has placed in two starts so far. It took time but the lines from his last effort have worked out and he is entitled to be in the mix. Great Reason is probably the most interesting newcomer with his relatively nice breeding. He'll eventually want further but this should be a chance to make an impression if breeding will out but we'll go on what we know and give Pipe Banner the pick.
