Verdict

Wiscalitus gets the call here over Flame Phoenix. The Venetia Williams-trained selection approached his Market Rasen debut with a big reputation and this French import, who won over 12 furlongs on the Flat at Longchamp, duly did the business - and he can follow up today. Flame Phoenix should chase him home. He has shown a fair level of form for this time of year, having already scored twice , but the selection, particularly in receipt of weight, ought to have too much class for him. Miss Rideamight showed some promise in a bumper here before twice subsequently failing, while the form of Canatrice's third to Assoon last time entitles her to a place claim, a similar comment applying to Fairmorning, who has been placed at a very modest level over middle distances on the Flat. With Kingston Town's sole Flat win having come over a mile on Southwell's all-weather, we return, once again, to Wiscalitus, who gets the vote.
