Verdict

Ben Pauling does well with his runners here and it would not surprise to see Newton Geronimo improve on recent runs, whilst the combination of a gradual drop in the ratings and Harry Cobden's 7lb claim brings Hope's Wishes into the argument. Mondo Cane didn't perform too badly back hurdling for the Pogsons last time and he looks on an attractive mark in a modest contest and can get involved. NOTEBOOK has struck up a fine understanding with Thomas Cheesman of late though and the combination should prove tough to overcome as they go in search of the hat-trick in receipt of weight all round.
