Wellmarked was successful on soft ground at Cork in October and is only a couple of pounds higher here. He had a couple of runs on the all-weather over the winter and, as the only previous winner in this contest, must hold every chance. Bangalore Diamond was well behind the top weight at Dundalk in September and this is his first try over the minimum but there are possibilities about Lake Wanaka on her form in the autumn. KANES PASS wasn't beaten far off a 7lb higher mark in a nursery at Bellestown in August. Three-year-olds get a generous weight allowance against older horses at this time of year and the Clodovil filly can get off the mark here.
