Verdict

While there are several well-connected newcomers here along with a couple who have shown promise on the racecourse it will be a major shock and a big disappointment to connections if ZABARAJAD doesn't lose his maiden tag. John Oxx' colt, beaten a head by Imperial Rome in a Curragh Listed event on his reappearance, took his chance in the Irish 2000 Guineas where he had no answer to Roderic O'Connor and the rest but wasn't disgraced and takes a huge drop in grade here. Jessica Harrington's pair Glanusk and Back Burner should be winning soon though it would be no surprise to see one of the newcomers provide the biggest danger. Acts Out Loud is the first foal of a Listed winner and is one to note though she should do better over middle-distances while Advenio hails from Jim Bolger's in-form yard and is related to plenty of winners. Ma Browne is another for the future as she's by Danehill Dancer out of a useful miler in the USA.
