In depth

Verdict

By leading NH sire King's Theatre out of a mare than won both on the Flat and over hurdles, PERFECT GENTLEMAN has the credentials to be a smart performer over jumps. It took Willie Mullins a long time to get him on the racecourse but the seven-year-old easily won a Cork bumper last month and should take all the beating now tackling hurdles. Mini Vic's second to Lisrose at Limerick was a very commendable first effort over timber and Liz Doyle's mare should be winning soon while Sandeel Bay and Cyprusormilan have hinted at ability, though are a little more exposed than some. Gizzit needs to step up on previous efforts, however, and former pointers Bothair Ciel and My Brother Pat probably have more scope.
